Patient Experience -
The results of the Patient Experience of Diabetes Services (PEDS) pilot survey were published in June 2014. The Think Tank has produced an infographic illustrating the key findings from the survey and the top three policy recommendations agreed at the last meeting.
After discussing how evaluating patient experience of diabetes care could help to drive improvements and in light of the publication of the PEDS pilot survey's findings, the Think Tank agreed on the following recommendations:
- To work in partnership to help secure funding for a national roll out of the PEDS survey
- To support the use of financial levers, for example Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) schemes to ensure that PEDS will have a high level of coverage
- To support an audit of the PEDS survey's first year results in order to help shine a light on areas where the experience of diabetes care can be improved, including education
